Terms and Conditions — VibePrep AI

1. Introduction

Welcome to VibePrep AI ("we," "our," "us," or the "Platform"). VibePrep AI is a web-based interview preparation platform accessible at vibeprep.ai (the "Website"). By creating an account, accessing, or using our services, you ("you," "your," or the "User") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Service Description

VibePrep AI provides the following services:

  • Technology Question Banks — Curated interview questions, detailed answers, code examples, and interview tips across multiple technology tracks (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, React, etc.).
  • AI Chat Coach — An AI-powered assistant that answers follow-up questions about interview topics. Powered by OpenAI's language models.
  • Coding Exercises — Curated coding problems with reference solutions in multiple programming languages.
  • Voice Mock Interviews — Real-time conversational interview simulations using speech-to-text, AI interviewer responses, and text-to-speech technology.
  • Progress Tracking — Tools to track your preparation progress across technologies and questions.
  • Notes — Rich-text note-taking tied to individual questions.

3. Account Registration

3.1. You must create an account to access most features of the Platform. Account authentication is provided through Clerk, a third-party authentication service.

3.2. You may sign in using Google OAuth or other authentication methods provided.

3.3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.4. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You agree to update your information promptly if it changes.

3.5. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform. If you are under 18, you may only use the Platform with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3.6. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if any information provided is found to be inaccurate, misleading, or in violation of these Terms.

4. Free Tier and Paid Access

4.1. Free Tier

  • Free users may preview a limited number of question detail pages (answers, code, explanations) across all technologies.
  • The AI interview coach and mock interviews are unlocked through a technology purchase (see 4.2).
  • Free tier access is provided "as is" and may be modified or discontinued at our discretion.

4.2. Technology Purchases

  • Individual technologies may be purchased for a one-time fee (currently INR 499 per technology).
  • Each technology purchase unlocks full access to that technology's question bank, answers, code examples, and AI interview coach.
  • Each technology purchase also includes a set number of voice mock interviews (currently 5 mock interviews).
  • Access to the AI interview coach is unlimited, subject to reasonable fair-use limits intended to prevent abuse.
  • Technology purchases are one-time and permanent — there is no recurring subscription.

4.3. Bundle Purchases

  • A discounted bundle is available to unlock all remaining unpurchased technologies at once.
  • The bundle discount is currently 20% off the combined individual prices.
  • The bundle includes a larger allocation of voice mock interviews (currently 40 mock interviews).
  • Bundle pricing is calculated dynamically based on the number of technologies you have not yet purchased.

4.4. Mock Interview Top-Up Packs

  • Voice mock interviews are a metered feature. Each purchased technology or bundle includes an allocation of mock interviews, as described above.
  • If you use up your included mock interviews, you may purchase additional mock interview top-up packs (currently INR 999 for 10 mock interviews, or INR 1,799 for 20 mock interviews).
  • Mock interviews from top-up packs are added to your account and do not expire.
  • Mock interview allocations are non-transferable between accounts.

4.5. Pricing Changes

  • We reserve the right to change pricing for technologies, bundles, and mock interview top-up packs at any time.
  • Price changes will not affect purchases already completed.
  • Any price changes will be communicated on the pricing page before taking effect.

5. Payments and Refunds

5.1. Payment Processing

  • All payments are processed through Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway.
  • We do not store your payment card details. All payment information is handled securely by Razorpay in accordance with their security standards.

5.2. Refund Policy

  • Since technology and bundle purchases provide instant digital access to content, refunds are generally not available once a purchase is completed and access has been granted.
  • If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing purchased content, please contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will work to resolve the issue or provide a refund at our discretion.
  • Mock interview top-up packs are non-refundable once the mock interviews have been added to your account.
  • If a payment was processed but the corresponding access or mock interviews were not delivered due to a technical failure, we will either complete the delivery or issue a full refund.

5.3. Failed Payments

  • If a payment fails or is declined, no access or mock interviews will be granted.
  • You may retry the payment at any time.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

6.1. The AI Chat Coach and AI-powered features on the Platform use third-party AI models (currently OpenAI GPT-4.1-mini) to generate responses.

6.2. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. AI responses are provided for educational and practice purposes only and should not be treated as authoritative or definitive technical references.

6.3. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content.

6.4. You should independently verify important technical information, especially when preparing for interviews at specific companies or for safety-critical applications.

6.5. AI responses are generated dynamically and may vary between sessions. We do not store or guarantee the availability of specific AI-generated content.

7. Voice Mock Interview Disclaimer

7.1. The Voice Mock Interview feature uses speech-to-text (OpenAI Whisper), AI language models, and text-to-speech technology to simulate an interview experience.

7.2. Audio recorded during mock interviews is uploaded to secure third-party cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) solely so it can be transcribed, and is deleted immediately after transcription completes. We do not retain mock-interview audio for any other purpose, and we do not use it for training. Only the resulting transcribed text is stored in your session history.

7.3. Mock interviews are conducted in English only. The system is designed to detect and process English speech.

7.4. Mock interview feedback and AI interviewer responses are generated by AI and are subject to the same disclaimer in Section 6.

7.5. The Platform requires microphone access (and optionally camera access) to conduct voice mock interviews. You consent to granting these browser permissions when using this feature.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. Our Content

  • All curated questions, answers, code examples, explanations, interview tips, and editorial content on the Platform are the intellectual property of VibePrep AI or its licensors.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.
  • You may use the content for personal, non-commercial interview preparation purposes only.

8.2. User-Generated Content

  • Any notes, chat messages, or other content you create on the Platform remains your intellectual property.
  • By using the Platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content as necessary to provide the services.

8.3. AI-Generated Outputs

  • Responses generated by the AI Chat Coach are produced by third-party AI models and are not claimed as our original intellectual property.
  • You may use AI-generated responses for your personal interview preparation. Commercial redistribution of AI-generated content from the Platform is not permitted.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

9.1. Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

9.2. Share, resell, or redistribute your account access, purchased content, or mock interview allocations to third parties.

9.3. Attempt to circumvent access controls, payment systems, or usage-metering mechanisms.

9.4. Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Platform or extract content in bulk.

9.5. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform.

9.6. Upload malicious content, viruses, or any material that could harm the Platform or other users.

9.7. Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

9.8. Use the Platform to generate content for competing interview preparation products or services.

9.9. Abuse the free tier by creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.

10. Privacy

10.1. This section describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in connection with your use of the Platform.

10.2. We collect and process personal data including: your name, email address (from authentication provider), purchase history, usage data (questions viewed, AI messages sent), and session data (mock interview transcripts).

10.3. We use third-party services for authentication (Clerk), payment processing (Razorpay), and AI processing (OpenAI). Your data may be shared with these providers as necessary to deliver the services.

10.4. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

10.5. Audio recordings from mock interviews are uploaded to secure third-party cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) only for the purpose of transcription and are deleted immediately after transcription completes. We do not permanently store mock-interview audio. Only text transcriptions are retained in your session history.

11. Service Availability and Modifications

11.1. We strive to maintain the Platform's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

11.2. The Platform depends on third-party services (OpenAI, Clerk, Razorpay, MongoDB Atlas, AWS). Outages or changes in these services may affect Platform availability.

11.3. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time.

11.4. If we discontinue a feature that you have paid for (e.g., removing a purchased technology's content), we will provide reasonable notice and, at our discretion, offer a refund.

12. Limitation of Liability

12.1. The Platform and all content are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

12.2. We do not warrant that the Platform will meet your specific interview preparation needs or guarantee any particular outcome (e.g., job offers, interview success).

12.3. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VibePrep AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

12.4. Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Account Termination

13.1. By You: You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your access to purchased technologies and any remaining mock interviews will be permanently revoked.

13.2. By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the Platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of severe violations.

13.3. Upon termination, you lose access to all purchased content and any remaining mock interviews. No refunds will be issued for remaining mock interviews or purchased technologies upon termination for Terms violations.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

14.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.

14.2. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

14.3. Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at the email provided below.

15. Changes to These Terms

15.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, providing notice through the Platform.

15.2. Your continued use of the Platform after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15.3. If you do not agree with any changes, you should stop using the Platform and contact us to delete your account.
